CLINT ANNOUNCES HIS RETIREMENT FROM CURSIVE
Cursive regrets to announce the retirement of Clinton Frederick Schnase IV from the band. After years on the road Clint has decided to spend more time at home in Omaha, NE with his happy family of Whippets. Clint has been a lover of Whippets and worked with them for a number of years. He feels it is his spiritual calling, "You can see your future (or
whatever) in their eyes."

We will miss touring, playing, laughing, crying, driving, flying,
walking, talking and drinking with Clint and are making plans to love him forever. We wish the best for him and his Whippets and promise to visit him and hang out once a month until the end of time.

Clint's heavy sticks have been passed to the wonderful Cornbread Compton who has travelled and played with the band for the last 7 months. Clint responded enthusiastically when Cornbread accepted the drumming position with a loud, "F***ING SWEET, MAN". Well put.

Clint is pictured here with his beloved Whippets:

02-01-06
DEMOING/PREPRODUCTION COMPLETED
We had a great time with Kirk Kaufman at Junior's Motel in Otho, IA demoing the new record. Its a cool spot on a huge farm. the studio itself is in a renovated chicken coop that inside reveals a full on studio with a 24+ channel analog board and 2 inch machine.

Junior's has a nostalgic place in our hearts for us too. A number of Omaha bands that we looked up to recorded their records at Juniors Motel. Cursive demo'd Such Blinding Stars for Starving Eyes there and Slowdown Virginia recorded there a number of times during high school and college. We've always had fond memories of Junior's so it was great to return and we hope to keep working there in the future.

01-16-06
WRITING AND RECORDING
After months of writing and rehearsing, we will be heading into the studio this month to demo the new record. Following the demos, we will begin "officially" recording the new record in the middle of February with a projected completion date of May 1st.

Everything 's going great. We are very excited about the new songs and looking forward to the recording process. We hope to release the new record at the end of this summer (late August early September).

NEW CURSIVE TRACK ON KATRINA BENEFIT

We have contributed a new song, "10 Percent to the 10 Percent" to Saddle Creek's Katrina benefit CD: Lagniappe. The idea was born on September 2nd, 2005; the result of the bands and label watching the surreal events unfolding in New Orleans and the greater Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina.

100% of Saddle Creek and the artists’ profits from the sale of Lagniappe are being donated to the Red Cross for their relief efforts. The CD version of this album can be pre-ordered in the Saddle Creek online store right now, or you can download it from iTunes.

Cursive regrets to announce the departure of cellist Gretta Cohn. After four years in the band, Gretta has decided to leave Omaha to pursue other interests and projects, including a potential solo album. The split is very amicable: the band wishes her well and she in turn eagerly anticipates the new Cursive material to come. Cursive will not be seeking a replacement.
